Griffin has no fear and his legs are so far apart when he skies I am afraid he might do the splits. But there is no stopping him - he could ski all day. I keep reminding him that the "more you turn, the more you learn" - but he prefers to go straight downhill as fast as he can.

Fletch traded his skis in for a snowboard and can ride on his heels - only problem is when he has to turn the other direction on his toes...

Besides getting to load up on stuffed animals and junk food with Hollie, Piper had a big day. We met her preschool friend, Marcus, and his mom (Rika - who Hollie described as a Swedish super model) at the slopes. Piper skied between my legs most of the day and did really well. However, on the last run she wanted to go through the trees. Since we had successfully skied through them several times, I was up for it. There are cute little wooden cut out animals cut through out the trail. Well, we hit a bump and our skies crossed. The next thing I know, I heard a cracking noise from my knees and I was laying face down in the snow. My skies were buried under me, we had knocked down the wooden bear and Piper was crying.

All I could think was, I just broke my leg and I am stuck on a mountain with a 4 year old that does not know how to ski - what a dumb idea to bring the kids skiing without Chris and with only sick Hollie who would probably hurl if she had to drive home from the mountains! Thankfully, my leg was not broken. Piper announced that she was no longer skiing and going to walk down the mountain. I called on my superhuman mommy strength and carried her down. Time to call it a day. Bring on the coffee!
