Bedroom Makeover

A few months ago I fell in love with a display at Anthropologie (the all time greatest and most inspiring store). Behind a bed they had done a wall of mirrors and old prints. Loved it!

I started collecting mirrors and this weekend Chris and I did a bedroom makeover. I am really pleased with how it turned out.

And - a little explanation. The small print on the far wall is where we got engaged in Germany. In the big frame is an antique map of Germany I bought for Chris several years ago. My wedding picture is next and the last mirror we purchased on our honeymoon in Puerto Vallarta.

Other sidenotes: The headboard I picked up off the side of the local thrift store after they rejected it (it has been repainted). Several of the fabulous pillows are from the heart gifts from my friend, Keitha. And of course Piper (who couldn't stay out of the picture) is the result of all this love!

Love is in the air!

First, thanks for the comment on my blog referring me to yours (and the adoption segment). I love your blog, you are quite the writer. Sometimes I even read your posts more than once.

Okay, now adoption. Sheesh, got so much to share with you. Good to have a friend in the process! It's like a pregnancy, everyone has a different story, but in the end, you'll end up with a baby. Just don't look back on your decision. This was in your heart long ago, we even talked about it the first time we met, Cam.

Logistics-- you will get up to 10,340 reimbursed as a tax "credit" (better than a deduction) over a course of 4 years for your costs! That's a hidden little secret.

Emotions-- Adoptive parents bond with their adoptive babies just the same as they do with natural. It is just the same, you are fighting for this baby emotionally instead of physically. So the bond comes-- and it's the only 'pregnancy' where your husband will feel like a 100% equal partner in the process.

I am so excited for you! If you go through LDS social services, I think they have discounts, like just a percentage of your income. I'm sure there are other programs out there like that.

Keep me posted! I am sooo excited for you. I always knew you'd be perfect for all of this!

Yes, it could all blow up in your face, but that's the risk you take in revealing a 'physical' pregnancy before your infant is placed in your arms. So I think it's totally okay to include all your friends and family in the process. The more prayers the better, right? :)

Yahoo, I'm so excited for you! We just got our 'log-in' date. Our little one/s is/are expected to be here in June of 2010... which is only around 15 months away! It comes faster than you think. Keep busy. Knit your booties!

Love you, I always knew your heart was gold. Solid.

Your friend,
Suzanne
