This is how I feel... I know that there is no reason to cry over spilled milk, but let me just take a few minutes to shed some tears.
Today was the day I was going to catch up on my blog. Gently encouraged by a few, I was going to take the morning and load the pictures (all 249 of them) on my camera from the past month and do some writing.
We had the camera out early this morning. Today was Piper's 4th Birthday and since Chris is out of town I wanted to capture everything for Chris on the camera. The boys stayed up late and helped me wrap presents. We woke up the birthday girl singing Happy Birthday - click, click, click went the camera. We had Chris on the phone and I got the cutest pictures of her in bed talking to him. You artsy types will understand that I felt a little pride at how great the colors looked - the gold walls in Piper's room are so warm they always look good in pictures. She was snuggled in under the red and white quilt and black and white toille sheets. Cute, Cute.
Downstairs for breakfast... I took a picture of Piper in her new dress and Faux Ugg boots. Then Griffin wanted to take a picture. And then he wanted to delete a picture. And then he was amazed that he could take so many pictures. And then, knowing that my memory was almost full - I became alarmed. How could he take so many pictures? I asked for the camera and that is when we realized the very sad truth. Griffin did not delete one picture - he deleted ALL of the pictures. Yep - the whole month on December went bye-bye.
Griffin cried. Fletcher cried. I did not cry since I am a Mommy and am suppose to set a good example. But here is what you will not be seeing on the blog:
- Taking pictures with the Grumpy, BAD Santa!!!
- Christmas with the cousins in Texas
- Picture of my Dad with his 9 grandchildren
- Piper getting to play with my old wooden doll house that my Dad found in the attic
- Box of beautiful, old wooden doll furniture
- Visiting the park with my dear, old Young Life "kid" Kathy Hays and her 2 kids
- My Mom putting the kids and cousin Kelsey to bed
- Cousin bubble bath time (probably the last year for that one!)
- Our 11th Anniversary
- Really great pictures of Chris and I at the Nasher Sculpture Center - we asked a guy that was carrying around a zillion cameras to take the shot and he did wonders with a little point and click camera
- Fletcher's birthday
- Taking Fletch to the Aquarium for his birthday
- and of course Piper's birthday
I am trying to look at the positives that this really eases catching up on my blogging... but still very, very sad!
Hope you are having a better day and remember to lock those photos on your camera!
